The renovation of this existing 1970s ski house is driven by a desire to produce an interior that matches the simple and serene aesthetic of the cedar board & batten facade. The gathering spaces are opened to the views of nearby mountains and meadows, while the circulation spaces are simplified to a single monolithic oak staircase. The simplified stair allows for a more straightforward organization of the floorplates: compartmentalized functional rooms on the ground level, open and bright communal spaces on the main level and bedrooms with views on the upper level.
