Norden House derives its form from the Austrian ski cabin, which was designed to shed great amounts of snow. Vertical board-formed concrete is employed at the ground level to withstand heavy winter snowfall while the two upper levels are clad in local wood. The interior walls are also finished in local wood creating a warm, cozy atmosphere. Spaces are arranged to inspire constant connections through the house through moments such as a double-sided fireplace, flexible connection between the game room and entertainment room, and kids' play space adjacent to the kitchen nook. The circulation meanders from the ground floor to the upper level, culminating at the hot tub deck offering uninterrupted views of Mt Lincoln.
